Trip planner?

I am going on a road trip and I am looking for a computer software that would tell me how much gas would cost etc. How to get there, I heard there is some software like this. Any ideas?|||AAA is a great resource. They can map out your trip in the office or online. They give you maps too for free if you are a member. Definitely worth the membership fee.|||Since prices change all the time, it is improbable that any computer program could be kept updated. There are books for this too, but they get out of date as well. Your best bet is the Internet because data can be updated in real time.

For current gasoline prices, check www.gasbuddy.com It lists prices for locations all over the country as reported by users of the website.

For hotel prices, check any major travel website such as Expedia or Orbitz. You can sometimes find special deals on the websites of individual hotel chains.

There are programs that help plot driving directions and determine distances. However, you can do the same thing for free on www.mapquest.com.|||Let me answer one of your questions - how to get there.

Use Yahoo Maps ! Enter your destination and your starting point and the software will tell you how to get there.

Happy Holidays !|||I use mapquest to do most of my trip planning especailly when it is a road trip. It will find hotels, gas stations, restaurant and other points of interest.

Also if you are a AAA member they can put together a road trip for you directly from their website.
